Vision Statement: Journeying with the people of Catford and Downham to empower and enable them to improve their physical, mental and spiritual health.
Mission Statement: To empower, advocate and support people’s wellbeing through health education, signposting and pastoral care initially through presence at projects already being run by the church (ie: Front Room at St Luke’s; Whitefoot and Downham Food Plus Project at Hope Church supported by St Barnabas’; Open Church at St John’s).
Our Parish Nurse, Becky, has now started and is going to be working for 8 hours a week across the parish. Becky introduces herself below:
“My name is Becky and I am a registered nurse with over 10 years community nursing experience. I have lived in Catford for the last 5 years and south east London for 7 years before that. I am originally from Bedfordshire. I did my nursing training at Kings College London and Lewisham hospital. Since qualifying I have worked in Lewisham hospital and in the community as a District Nurse in Lambeth and Southwark. I am married with two small children. I am a practicing Christian and I am so thankful for the opportunity to combine my nursing experience and faith journey to help the people of my local neighbourhood.”
