St Luke’s Services 14.02.2021 and Lent Plans

Church at Home:
We continue to be online only in order to reduce the spread of COVID19 and reduce strain on the NHS. This week’s Church at Home service will be available from 10am on Sunday at attached link.

We also gather on Zoom at 11am on Sundays for a time of catch up, thanksgiving and prayer. It is always a wonderful time of fellowship, encouragement and prayer and it would be wonderful to see more people on the call. Lent:
At present we are likely to be Church at Home for most of the Lent season, however this only makes the personal disciplines of Lent (prayer, Bible reading, generous giving, fasting, etc) even more important.

The intention for the season of Lent this year is that we hear the words of God in 2 Chronicles 7:14 –

“if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Therefore, our focus will be on prayer and repentance in our practices this year. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday (17th February this year) and we will observe Ash Wednesday through a short online service at 7:30pm on the YouTube channel followed by a Zoom prayer meeting at 8pm (using the same link/details as our Sunday prayer).

We will then gather weekly to pray together on Zoom (day and time TBC).
